whisk away your heartsighyang xiao long Oh gimme that fireBurn , burn , burn basics the basics full nameyang xiao long age18occupationadventurer/freelancerspecieshumanpronounsshe/herusergroupwayfarerfandomrwby the powers yang has an immense amount of physical strength and durability along with a honed fighting skill. for weapons she has a robotic arm that packs a real punch(and can also act as a sort of shield), along with a gauntlet on her other arm that can be loaded with explosive rounds to aid in a blow or propel her forward or even into the air. like all huntresses she can activate her aura as a sort of temporary shield that glows around her when she activates it, though it can only last so long under a continuous onslaught. in addition to this, her aura grants her a unique semblance. yang's is the ability to take energy from any hit she takes and use it to increase her own power/strength. hit her and she can hit you back twice as hard. she also occasionally unintentionally activates her semblance when she's angry. the tell tale sign she's activated it is her purple eyes going red, and occasionally a burst of fiery energy around her. it can't last forever though, dodge enough and she'll have used it up as well as tired herself out the canon volume 4, chapter 11, after she says goodbye to her father and rides off on her motorcycle. freestyle 1. sunnyYou were a happy kid, one of the ones with too much energy and too little self control. Stuffing cookies in your rounded child cheeks while you listen to your mother tell tales of her missions. Your mother was a superhero, a huntress that battled evil! Summer Rose was legendary. You and your sister looked up to her with glittering eyes. Your father would crack a silly joke, and you'd punch him in the arm. He was a huntsman too, though he taught at one of the training academies. You loved both your parents dearly, they were the strongest people you knew! Not enough to hurt though. Everything in that time was tinted rose. You were sure your parents would protect you and your sister forever. You never truly grasped the reality of the threat the creatures Grimm posed, but you knew both your parents cut them down on a regular basis. So you were safe, and your sister was protected. And you would help! Ruby was something special, you could sense it. Plus, she was the only sister you had. You had so much love to give your family. You wanted it to be that happy forever. 2. wagon But things change. Bad things creep up on you when you least expect it. One day Summer never came back to you. And she was never yours to begin with. She was Ruby's mother. But not yours. No, your mother had left you and your father. Abandoned. Your father who was crushed, who wasn't able to pick himself up after losing a second love. You didn't understand. Why did your mother leave? Did she not like you? You didn't know. But you wanted to. Badly. Childish curiosity crept up. And another feeling, call it desperation, or despair, but you needed to know why your mother left you. You found a clue and that was all you needed to rush out, dragging Ruby in a wagon behind you. Your father was in no state to take care of you two in his shut down state, but maybe your true mother could. You needed to look out for your sister. And you needed answers. Little girls were not meant to go tracking through the woods, no mater what fairy tales would tell you. You were so tired, and scraped up. But you were a stubborn soul, and one with no shortage of determination. You would find your birth mother. No mater what. You went on and on despite the exhaustion. Finally found the place your clue led too. But you did not find your mother. You found only monsters. Big. Red. Eyes. Looking at you like you were it's next meal. And you would have been. An exhausted girl and a toddler in a wagon. There would be no fight. Just in time, your uncle Qrow showed up, slaying the Grimm and saving your life. Ruby's life. You shook and cried all the way home. And it was enough to snap your father out of his depressed state. He hugged you tight and did his best to console you while reprimanding your recklessness. But those red eyes haunted you for weeks, months even. Nightmares came to you of those red eyes closing in. Of the monsters hurting your sister. Your father. Your uncle. You knew one thing. You weren't strong enough to search for your mother. You had a family to protect. A family that loved you, a sister that needed you, a father who had seen too much loss already. You made it your goal to stay cheery and strong for them, and over time the fear in the memory faded. But not the lesson. You would never forget that. You vowed to become stronger. So that one day you could find your real mother on your own. And you would be strong enough to protect those you loved. You wouldn't push past your limits and put them in danger ever again. 3. burnYou did become stronger, entering in signal academy to become a huntress, eventually graduating and setting your sight on the nest level of education at beacon. It seemed like the path for you, your whole family was huntresses and huntsmen and you craved the adventure. The fire. The next thrill. You reveled in it, adrenaline and venting all your frustrations and emotions through a solid punch. You were reckless though, destructive. Burning yourself alive. The only real things keeping you grounded were Ruby and your mission to find your mother(which had yet to lead anywhere). Still, you may be a bad influence, but you knew how to have fun. 4. beaconIt wasn't a surprise to you that Ruby got into Beacon at the same time as you despite being two years younger. She was special, and more than talented enough. She'd sped through huntress training as if she were using her semblance the whole time. You were so excited she was coming with you! You could keep an eye on her as you both trained yourselves to be better. While you took after your dad in your fighting style, and were well train by him in close hand to hand(plus your trusted gauntlets), Ruby had been mostly trained by your uncle Qrow and had one hell of a scythe for a weapon. The ride over to the school was spend expressing how proud you were of your baby sis. But once you landed, you knew you needed to give her time alone. Ruby couldn't use you as a crutch forever, she needed to find her own friends or her potential would be stifled! You'd looked after that girl since she was in diapers, but the time had come for her to spred her wings!Ruby did end up making some, interesting acquaintances. Jaune - the boy who had barfed on the ship over seemed to warm up to her. However she had blown up somehow and upset Weiss Schnee, some prissy heiress type who clearly thought herself better than them. Whatever, you had no time for such downers. Ruby had also bumped into another girl after she blew up, a tall black beauty named Blake. You pushed your sister forward to talk to her, but in all honesty you wanted to as well. Blake seemed cool, if a bit standoffish. She had a mellow attitude at least, and a mysterious air that made you curious as to what exactly her story was. But you didn't want to push it to hard when she was clearly in an antisocial mood. 5. teamThe first test went super well in your opinion! It started with an awesome free fall, which you enjoyed to the fullest, and ended with an epic battle against two giant Grimm. Your partner in the forest ended up being Blake, which made you very happy. You knew Ruby wanted to be partners, but seriously - the girl needed to branch out. Plus, Blake was a super awesome fighter, and seemed to go with the flow of things just like you did! Ruby got paired with Weiss surprisingly, but hey, it ended up working in the ending fight, so you reserved judgement. But if that ice princess ever hurt your baby sister, she'd get a taste of fire. The test determined their teams for the rest of the time at Beacon. You were on team RWBY - Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, and you couldn't be more pleased with the results. You'd seen all your fighting skills in action, and were sure you'd make a badass unstoppable team! As long as Weiss didn't cause any more fuss. But you were too proud to care, your sister was a team leader! And you were on your way to becoming true huntresses! You decided already that you would care for your team like family, and looked forward to getting to know them all better. It was good to find allies in another team too. The ones that had helped in the final fight of your test - team JNPR, lead by the barfing Jaune, Nora who had a good energy about her, Pyrrha who was already a famously acomplished fighter, and Ren who didn't say much. You hoped you would be able to battle with them in the future, but at the same time felt like it be killer to battle against them in practice.Life at Beacon was off to to a stellar start. You had more people to look out for now, and damned if you let them down! 6. faunus The Vytal Festival seemed so far away, but with the arrival of students from the other academies you felt the anticipation build. Weiss certainly found a fire in her, you weren't too surprised given her previous competitiveness. Still, dragging the whole team to the docks to scope out competition was a bit much. It did give you a view of another dust shop robbed, which was concerning. But you had more immediate things to worry about. Weiss was making passing comments about the White Fang, saying that the known violent terrorist were the robbers. A group made up of all faunus, that aimed for some sort of domination over humans. You actually weren't too sure what they wanted. The White Fang wasn't a topic you were well versed in. It just added to Weiss' spiteful speech when you all saw a monkey faunus appear after stowing away on a ship. She called them all thieves and liars, which you were quick to shut down. Terrorists were one thing, but condeming an entire race was too far. There weren't any faunus in the small island off Vale's coast where you grew up. The only one you knew at beacon was Velvet, who was a year ahead so not very close to you. They got a lot of flack for what a small group of them decided was right, which was all wrong in you book. They were just as much people as humans were, just different. And you were a fan of different, people could never all be the same or the world would be boring! You weren't the only one opposed to Weiss' hate. You had honestly never seen Blake so upset. The impending blowout was only delayed a bit by following after the monkey faunus and bumping in to a weirdo. You were no stranger to weirdos(you lived with three of them). But Penny was something new, you weren't sure whether to be wary of what she would do next, since it seemed random. But Penny was only a minor distraction. Not enough to knock either Weiss or Blake off the path they were set on seeing through. You didn't know what to say. You wanted to side with Blake, you trusted her. She was your partner. But you didn't want there to be a fight in the team in the first place! You didn't even know why she was so passionate about this! Why did she have to be so secretive all the time? It didn't help when Weiss was being so judgmental, you guessed that. So you didn't interviene, you didn't know what to do. Not even when the fight dragged all the way back to the academy and into the night. You and Ruby just stood in shock. Weiss revealed that she hated the White Fang so much because it put strain on her family. Having had their dust company attacked multiple times. But it didn't exactly excuse her hating all the faunus. Blake felt the same. You knew she felt the same because for once she actually showed her emotions. And they were hurt. Badly. Because Blake - Blake admitted she was a member of the White Fang, how tired they were of being pushed around, and then she ran away. You couldn't sleep. What if she got into trouble out there? Would she even feel like she could call for backup? What if? What if?First thing in the morning team rwby -1 went out to look for their missing member. It wasn't the same without her, for sure. There was too much energy in the group without Blake to level it out. You could put aside what she had admired to. And maybe that was wrong, that you cared for someone a part of such a violent organization. But she was still a member of the team and you stood by your gut feeling to trust her. Blake always had the teams back in battle. Even if you were all humans who the White Fang hated. So now you would have hers. You would find her at least. That was the only thought on your mind. Team rwby was family, all of them, despite their flaws. You didn't give up on family. You weren't your mother. And you couldn't help wondering if this was how your father felt when you and Ruby and a wagon went missing all those years ago. You bumped into Penny on your search and she offered to help. To help search for "the faunus girl" because somehow the weird girl knew more about Blake than you did. Which was disheartening, you just thought she had a thing for bows. Not kitty ears. Which first, cute. Second, you wish she had just told you.You searched for forever with Weiss, not really speaking much. Maybe she sensed how tense you were, which was ironic to some degree given how tactless she conducted herself earlier. Maybe she was just too deep in thought, which was fine by you. Not that you had much thought yourself other than 'find Blake, figure stuff out later'.Ruby and Penny ended up finding her first, battling a group of White Fang members smuggling dust. They led by a human named Roman Torchwick, which didn't fit their whole 'hating humans' thing. You were just glad to see Blake safe. And so, surprisingly was Weiss. She made amends, saying she no longer cared that Blake was a past member of the White Fang(as Ruby explained), and practically stole the words out of your head when she asked Blake to come to her team with problems before running away again and talking to outsiders. She had apparently been spending time with the monkey faunus Sun. Your team, your Beacon family was back together, and you were satisfied. Only, now you had to think about the bigger problem. Who was Roman Torchwick? Why did the White Fang work with him? What the hell did they need with all that dust energy and military equiptment? 7. torchSecond semester started with one of the greatest battles you'd fought up until that point. The final fight with team jnpr! It was a food fight sure, but it was the most awesome thing ever. Ruby brought you home with the final victory move, but you all got covered in food and had a good time anyway. New arrivals continued to show up for the festival, Sun introduced you all to his friend Neptune. Who seemed a bit concerned about how he appeared, but who were you to judge. Maybe you'd bond over hair care one day. Or, whatever he was in to.But the real battle had only just begun. With what Ruby had heard at the docks about Torchwick, you're team was investigating on the sly. Neptune and Sun invited themselves, even if you'd have rather this stayed contained. Better not to involve too many people. Anyway, you figured you could get info from one of the thugs you tore up in a club before you went to Beacon. His men had run with Torchwick the first time Ruby faced him, the fight that got her noticed enough to get into Beacon in the first place. You'd have to thank him for that. Serve up a nice tray of knuckle sandwiches and a can of whoop-ass. You didn't play around when it came to getting what you wanted out of the club's owner, Junior. But he knew nothing. His men hadn't even come back. In other news, Neptune was about as cool as a toothbrush. But you didn't blame the guy. You were a little too hot to handle sometimes, and the whole club staff threatening you two with guns must have been a stress for the new guy. You, however, always welcomed a little danger. You ended up meeting with the rest of your team along with Sun anyway. Blake and him had gone to a White Fang rally for info, while Weiss and Ruby went to get information on the new tech they saw being stolen. You gave chase as Torchwick literally drove by you in some sort of giant robot from Atlas. Now this was fun! Fighting on a freeway, check that off the bucket list. You were ready to deal some real damage with your semblance. The giant robot punches should be enough power to put some dents in the baddies. Except a new fighter entered the field. Some silent type who didn't even fight for real! All she did was evade and evade, until the image of her and Torchwick shattered. They got away. You were so angry, you would have broken something if all you energy hadn't been sapped by trying to land a hit on the girl. The night left you all with more questions than answers. You lost, and it didn't feel good. But you would win next time. You would figure it out. It wasn't like your endless search to find your mom. Torchwick was hardly subtle or conspiquous. Plus, you had a team for this, and even a few new friends added to that. 8. dance Despite the chaos happening in Vale, Beacon was the same as ever. Well, the same with some added population with the students from other schools there for the Vytal fest. You still were bothered about not catching Torchwick and his goons but live and let live. You wouldn't lose sleep over it. Blake, however, seemed to have an opposing mindset. She was running herself into the ground over it. Over all the answers you didn't have. Over the White Fang. The dark circles and grumpiness were practically consuming her along with all those questions. You knew the feeling, wanting to know answers so bad you'd destroy yourself over it. But you'd already learned that lesson the hard way, and you didn't want her to get into danger like you did as a child. The perfect excuse to let loose presented itself when you and Weiss both volunteered to organize a dance in team cfvy's prolonged absence. You had different ideas about what a party was, the kind you went to didn't exactly have fancy doilies. But you were comforted Ruby was also worried about Blake. It was easy to reassure your sister with absolute confidence, you knew exactly what to do. Blake had some darkness in her past she wasn't past, but so did you.The fact that a laser pointer worked to lure her out of her books was pretty funny, but it was no time to play games. You would save her from herself if it was the last thing you did. Which it wouldn't be, because this would work. You dragged your resistant partner into an empty classroom. Asked her to listen. Thankfully, she had enough trust or care or something to stay and hear you out. Which was good because who knew if you'd ever get the courage to do this again after a rejection. You were fearless and brash in battle sure, but emotions weren't your strong point. You always tried to be the sunshine on peoples days, so much so that you didn't know how to talk about the rainYou told her the wagon story. The whole of it, even if the memory still felt as fresh and painful. But she resisted, she said it didn't compare. You shook your head, she didn't get it. You told her you weren't telling her to stop, but letting her obsession drive her to this state would help no one. But she kept resisting. Ugh! She was so - so stubborn! Why couldn't she listen? It hurt that she couldn't get it. No, Blake was smart, you knew that. She refused to get it. The thought made you angry, angry enough for you to feel the fire in your blood. For you to flash red eyes her way.Maybe people did need to learn things the hard way? Fine! You'd use something you were well versed in, threats and force. What would Blake do if Torchwick walked in? You asked her, even though you knew the answer - she would try and fight, and she would fail. You demonstrated this point clearly, pushing her back with not even your full strength and she still fell. Weak and frail from exhaustion and lack of food. She couldn't even stand on her own. You felt like crying, not just from the outbreak of emotions your story brought up. But in seeing the strong person you knew be beaten by a little push. Maybe getting emotional wasn't your strong suit. But you knew what to do then, something you had done many times for your dad and sister. Comfort. You pulled her into a hug, reiterating your point. You didn't want her to stop her fight to stop the White fang and find out what they were doing. You just wanted her to rest. If not for her own self, then for the people she cared about. It was selfish, but you hoped that was you. Because you cared for her more than you'd like to admit. In all her stubborn and rebellious glory. You may have not been able to say those words. But you could muster up some of your flirtatious charm after that breakdown - a wink and an 'i'll save you a dance' never carried so much weight. But dance you did, and it was the most fun you'd had in a long time. You almost didn't want to let go, but you let Sun cut in. You wouldn't be selfish. Blake could make her own choice. And you could make yours to not dance with anyone else that night. You would have fun, tease your sister, let loose, live in the moment. You had thought Jaune changing into a dress and performing a coordinated dace with his team would be the biggest surprise of the night. Did they practice that instead of training? could you convince team rwby to do something similar? Dance off? Considering your team leader left midway through, probably not. Ruby had developed a weird habit of finding trouble and overhearing things when you weren't around. You weren't sure if you were proud of this. She had followed someone who broke into the Beacon communications tower. Weird masked lady with glowing clothes. Disappeared out of nowhere.More questions to add on the growing pile of weird and foreboding occurrences that made no sense.Despite how fun the dance was, and how much you'd treasure those memories, you felt a stirring in your stomach. You and whoever was along for the ride next time needed to take care of Torchwick as soon as possible. 9. breakthrough 10. win 11. hate 12. loss 13. lost 14. fight 15. new shipper summary Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
