Having woken to the Prince and Princess of Ylisse with little memory of who she was before, to say that Robin started from scratch would not be far off. Instinctual things, habits from before, and of course her intellect, remained in tact, but what made her who she was prior to her amnesia was no longer all there. In that regard, some of who she was became circumstantial until she gained her footing in this new life she acquired.
Robin, at her core, is a curious individual who values intellectualism and academia. She is not, however, opposed to having a bit of fun now and again. Still, it could easily be said that she tends to overwork herself and become wrapped up in business. She dedicates her time to her job, to being the tactician of Ylisse’s royal guard and of their army, and is always certain to accomplish all she must for any given task.
A brilliant strategist, Robin is calculating constantly. Sure signs are narrowed eyes and a head ever so slightly cocked, but no mistake should be made, her mind is always going. The ramifications of certain actions, the optimal motions on a battlefield, the right words to say in formal situations, all these things are kept at the forefront of her thought process. In battlefield tactics, she tends to ensure that no life will be lost, the smallest number of injuries occurring and the least amount of stress or strife is placed upon her comrades even if it means taking it herself.
She is clever and observant, just as she is calculating. Robin is always watching, patient and intent, even when she is tired or breaking from work. To ease up would be to leave a spot of weakness which would strategically be unsound and for a woman of her stature, she could consider it unprofessional.
Robin is not just the work that can consume her, however. Due to her lack of memories, for a period of time, Robin tended to act as how she believed would allow her to fit in with the other shepherds. Saying and doing that which she might not otherwise though nothing that would oppose the whole of who she was. She wished to garner the respect and trust of all those she served along side and to even foster friendships through the small sparks between herself and her comrades. While Robin grew comfortable in who she was, in what she could remember of herself as time passed and as she proved her strengths and skills as worth, people warmed to her and several irreplaceable bonds were formed.
She emits a fair bit of snark and can have something of a temper but through and through, Robin is incredibly respectful of her acquaintances and friends. Even with those she knows little of, Robin tends to assume an air of formality so as not to offend, so as to create a welcoming atmosphere. Once more, optimizing every situation.
Robin is relatively easy to simply get along with, she herself has dealt with being pre-judged and attempts to offer everyone a fair chance. However, she is also largely observant and can typically tell if she wants to be involved with someone from very early on. She will be kind, respectful even, when not confronted with someone who may prompt her to act otherwise, but friendship is a little tougher. Because she is so concentrated on her work and often busy with a million things at once, she does not dedicate a lot of time to a lot of people. Robin tends to build bonds with those she can trust and keep a few people close while an array of others on friendly terms.
It is just as easy to be at odds with Robin as it is to see her kindness. She is a woman who is firm in her stances and her intellect and when that is challenged or when she senses danger, she will strike. Be it with physical blows or intellectual jibes, Robin can be quite cutting to be on the wrong end of.
She has been left ambiguous in terms of Fire Emblem characters. I am open to canons and crossovers for her relationships. Robin is a hard woman to romance. Noted above is how difficult getting close to her is. She is high uninterested in romantic pursuits unless she is close to an individual and even then, she tends to be oblivious or consider them a waste of her time. She has no qualms with pleasure or involvements which may be stimulating but fleeting, yet they require the other individual to match her wit and academics or she would not even consider them. If someone were to seek a long term relationship with Robin, it would take time and an incredible bout of dedication.
I am open to most ships within Fire Emblem if there is chemistry and communication, see above about expectations of shipping. My preferences are as follows, though: Chrom, Frederick, Virion, Sumia, Olivia, Cordelia, Panne. Maribelle, Tharja.
I LOVE crossover ships too. (For example, I hardcore ship her with Iron Bull from DAI!)
Regardless of who she ends up with, part of her will always see Lucina as her daughter. I am always, always, always down for mother/daughter relationships with Lucina.
