now, the story for these guys goes that 'the entity' (the big bad spider demon thing) brought all these killers and survivors to play in a 'most dangerous game' type constant die and respawn type thing for its amusement (aka yes, we can kill the survivors constantly and they'll come back, this is the only exception to the rule on death i'm making). i figure, what if the void could serve as that arena? so, after being brought from their home worlds into elysion, this is where the entity kept them, in some constantly shifting arena in the void. so the void has multiple levels, and i figure the dead by daylight crew are in a lower level that the entity is constantly changing to suit its needs, throwing the dbd killers into it--we'll NPC them, of course--and not letting the survivors escape. eventually i DO want them to escape and find their way out into the new world they're in, but for now, i want some carnage :3c
dwight was the first to be brought here, followed by jake, claudette, and meg, and then the others followed after. he's the leader of the group, so please read his application to kind of figure out what he's like. basically he's the 'nervous leader' and he's a mess, but he tries his best! i'd like for them all to have accepted him as their leader, and i'd rather not anyone hate him. he's really very fond of all of them and mourns every time they die; he's a gentle soul and he just really wants to get everyone out of a trial safely every time, so he winds up putting himself on the line a lot--even though he claims he's not brave. he's a good boy ok, look how cute he is =/ their ages aren't stated anywhere, but i can help you figure it out!
some time after dwight showed up, jake, claudette, and meg appeared. jake is the son of of a wealthy CEO and he's never really seen the appeal of that kind of life. his older brother graduated from yale and he was never really very academic, which put the pressure on him by his parents to really try and be the very best. eventually, jake dropped out of school entirely. it had been years since he spoke to his father, but his mother checked up on him every now and then after jake decided to live literally off the grid basically in a cabin in the woods. he disappeared one day and was brought in by the entity to serve in the games. jake is bold and brave, but he is terrible under pressure; he cracks like an egg. he proclaims to be an outsider and definitely lives better in the woods, but also quite likes being around people. early on he took on the roll as bait and general shit-talker to the killers to give the others time to escape. he is great with pain and can handle himself nicely; he is determined and always tries to stay one step ahead.
jake's perks are iron will which gives him a heightened pain threshold basically. calm spirit allows him to be at one with the animals around him and, in game, this means the crows will not alert the killer to your whereabouts. and then saboteur which gives him the ability to destroy hooks and fix generators quickly without the use of a toolbox. read more on jake and his perks HERE.
some time after dwight showed up, jake, claudette, and meg appeared. hailing from canada, claudette has always been madly into science. she earned an early scholarship at a great college studying botany. she's absolutely as introverted as dwight, which makes them amazing friends. online forums and other 'nerds' became her best friends and she often answered everyone's botany questions online, as it was the only social interaction she could handle. usually shy and reserved, she has gone through great lengths to be the caretaker amongst the group and she is responsible for making all the healing items they use each trial. she isn't as brave as she is altruistic and feeling and she's oftentimes great support for dwight, despite the fact they're both socially awkward.
claudette's perks are empathy, which allows her to see the 'aura' of an injured ally. botany knowledge which gives her the ability to create medkits and healing items from things she finds around the campfire. and, finally, self care which gives her the ability to simply heal herself without a medkit and with whatever she can find on hand. read more on claudette and her perks HERE.
meg’s perks are quick & quiet, which allows her to not make as much noise when vaulting over an obstacle or hiding in a locker, sprint burst, which allows her to run at 150% of her normal speed for three seconds, but causes exhaustion, and adrenaline, which allows her to instantly heal one health state and sprint at 150% of her speed for five seconds when all of the generators are completed. adrenaline will wait to be activated if hooked or inactive, wakes her up if needed, and ignores previous exhaustion, but will cause exhaustion. read more about meg here.
a note, val would love to ship nea and meg! a swedish tagger and troublemaker, she started rebelling when she was sixteen years old by cutting her hair and reinventing herself completely. nea was dared to tag the old asylum and was never seen again, as the entity swept her up. she had a happy childhood despite her parents being hard workers and sometimes not around. she started acting out as retaliation for them moving to the US. she was never considered "normal" by other's standards and always marched to the beat of her own drum; she also takes no shit. she and david get on super well, basically two peas in a pod. she's known to be one of the bravest, definitely not afraid to use herself as bait for the others. she may seem kind of aloof and callous, but she's actually laid-back and always willing to talk to others.
nea's perks are balanced landing, which allows her to stagger less when falling, urban evasion which, from years sneaking around, has enabled her to do as such with speed and stealth, and finally streetwise which reduces the rate of consumption on items. read more on nea and her perks HERE.
be aware that bill is actually a character from left 4 dead; that being said, you need to know left 4 dead to be able to play him properly, but its really just another zombie game, so you may be alright otherwise. he is the resident polished soldier of the group, a man that knows how to take orders and give them, and knows how to survive difficult situations. he's never truly stopped fighting, per se, but he did two tours in vietnam, has a handful of medals, has dealt with shrapnel and explosions and all that good stuff. he tried to settle down, went in for a routine surgery, and then woke up to find a plague had been turning people into mindless killers. refer to HIS WIKI for more information!
bill's perks are left behind; if he is the last person left on the field, for each generator he gains a boost in repair time. borrowed time allows him to, after saving one survivor from a hook, be hit and put on a timer until he reaches the 'dying' state (crawling on the ground). and finally unbreakable gives bill the ability to recover from that dying state once per trial.
ace visconti is charming in the way that you feel a slug might be; slimy. he's often described as being something like a 50's movie star with all his suave italian-style looks, charm, and smooth-talking. growing up poor in argentina, he gambled a lot, scammed, seduced, and lied his way into a life of luxury as a high-roller. to be honest, he was good enough to win and get enough money to spend, but he also lost a lot of it. his motto was always 'just one more round'. eventually he raked up huge debts with the wrong kinds of people. he disappeared when they came to collect, brought into the campfire by the entity. ace gambles with his own life, never anyone else's, and he's usually kind of a front-runner and distraction when need be. he thinks he's more charming than he is, and he flusters dwight to no end every single time, but he thinks dwight is trustworthy and will get even better at being a leader eventually.
ace's perks are open handed which gives him, and the team, the ability to see everyone's auras more clearly. up the ante gives a boost to luck for every survivor still alive on the field. and ace in the hole gives him extra luck when searching chests; there's a good chance that a rare or ultra rare add-on will be attached to whatever he finds. read more about ace and his perks HERE.
please note that her name is chinese, so it is surname firstname; ie min is her first name. she's referred to as feng a lot, but you can decide what her name preferences are. feng min is a girl that just loves technology and computers. she picked up games when she was young and never put them down. min felt smothered by her parents that saw no future in her obsession with video games so she eventually left home. she rarely saw her parents after that and made it a career of playing and streaming video games, where she earned the nickname 'shining lion'. she joined an e-sports team, lived in their dorms, but always pushed herself far past her breaking point. she spiraled out of control as the fear of failure got to her and she wound up visiting bars and waking up places she didn't recognize; which is when the entity brought her to the campfire. she's determined and bold as all hell, she'll face off with a killer and not bat an eyelash. she's very agile and nimble and doesn't mind putting herself on the line.
min's perks are technician which reduces the noises made by repairing generators and if the generator explodes, there is a chance it won't be heard. lithe allows her to get an extra speed boost when vaulting over objects but causes exhaustion. and alert allows her to see the aura of the killer for a few seconds after the killer breaks an object. read more about min HERE.
now, personally speaking, david and dwight did not hit it off. they're complete opposites in everything they do--david is rough and tumble, a guy that just wants to get shit done, and dwight is timid and nervous and plans things out. so one day dwight handed over the leadership role to david and david did just about as well as expected; he let almost everyone get killed. after being saved and healed up by dwight during a trial with the doctor, he started to reevaluate just what kind of team player he wanted to be. so while david is overall rugged and harsh with his words, he's turned into that 'asshole with a heart of gold' and he usually sticks to dwight's side during trials, and every other time for that matter, because he sees he's a good leader but that he needs a lot of protection. remember he is from manchester, so do some research on the accent and slang.
david's perks are we're gonna live forever which essentially gives him a boost every time he protects an ally from being hit or saves them from a hook. dead hard allows him to move faster after he's been hit. and no mither (lol mither means 'trouble') allows him to start the trial injured and unable to be healed but he doesn't leave signs of being injured and can recover from the 'dying' state (on the ground crawling) completely on his own. read more about david and his perks HERE.
kate denson grew up in pennsylvania, surrounded by music. one of her earliest memories was standing in front of her family, singing a song she learned that day at school. she learned the guitar once she was old enough to reach around it and began writing her own songs. she had overwhelming support from her mother who did everything she could to fulfill her big dreams, taking her all over pennsylvanian, across the south, and eventually to nashville. kate won folk song competitions pretty much everywhere she went. she didn't want to see other people lose, her main goal was to see people's faces light up when she played her music, to give herself and others an outlet. basically, she just wanted to make people happy. she is generous and kind, was always helping out her home community as much as she could by volunteering and whatever else she could do for them and her family. she was snatched by the entity during one of her inspirational sessions playing guitar in the forest. she is incredibly new to the team but has found her niche within them immediately, befriending almost everyone effortlessly. personally, i'd love for her to be another protective force around dwight and i'm dying for her to teach him to play guitar!
kate's perks are dance with me which allows her to move lighter and faster when exiting lockers or vaulting, leaving behind less marks and making less sound for the killer to follow. windows of opportunity allows her to see the auras of nearby escape routes via windows or pallets. and finally boil over which hinders the killer's ability to properly find hooks once she is on their shoulder, it also increases the effects of struggling, making it harder for the killer to hold onto her. read more about kate and her perks HERE.
